Below you will find information about auditions for the many programs we have at The Building Block School for the Arts. Your spark will be ignited as you surround yourself in our creative community. We believe that the arts change lives for the better ! so jump in!

AUDITIONS

This year is our MINKA year. A MINKA is a Japanese dwelling. All of our classes, programs and shows will take place in Asia. It’s all about educational experiences, making learning fun! We can hardly wait to release our Spring show!

Auditions are JANUARY 22 from 4-6pm

Ages 5-18 welcome, Rehearsals are Thursdays 4:00-5:30 pm for 5-10 years, Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:00-6pm for 11-18 years and some Sunday’s 2-5 to combine.

***For the Audition:

We will teach you all you need to know. Come prepared to stay for the entire time. Parents, for the safety and protection of our students freedom to express creatively, we are closed to viewing during rehearsal and audition times. All staff has been background checked and trained.

Character CAST LIST

Aladdin: must sing well and be able to move around quickly.

Jasmin: must sing excellently

Genie: must be able to dance, preferably tap.

Omar, Babkak, Kassim: must dance and sing well. Be able to hold their own part against others.

Jafar: bring your best acting chops! we’re looking for over the top! We are looking for someone tall for this role. Singing is a plus

Iago: comedic timing a must. we’re looking to cast a shorter person in this role.

Dancer/vendors: lyrical dance experience a plus and tap gets double points!

Beggers: can’t be choosers… well we are! We’re looking for singers with big personalities.
